Instructions for Authors

Contributors are invited to submit summaries on the conference topics list. The summary should contain sufficient detail to allow the merit of the paper to be judged. The Technical Program Committee will decide whether the paper will be presented at a technical session or as a poster.

Format

  • Summaries should be typed, single spaced, and in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Figures and tables should be provided with the paper.
  • Use SI units with English units following in parentheses, if needed.

Length

  • Text – 4 pages maximum, English only
  • Figures and tables – three figures and/or tables maximum, included in page count.
  • Page charge of $100 per page for summaries that exceed 4 pages.

Content

  • Papers may cover technical accomplishments as well as key policy success but should represent information that has not been reported previously.
  • Introduction – clearly state the objective; direct the reader to the purpose of the work and define context
  • Work Description – review methods and/or analyses
  • Results – provide data or information gained from the study
  • Conclusions and Discussions – provide interpretation of results and discussion of relevance to DD&R

Author's Organizational Approval

  • All internal reviews and organizational approvals must be completed prior to submittal of the final extended summary.
  • It is the responsibility of the author to protect proprietary information.

Where to Submit a Summary for Review

Submit summaries via the ANS website in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Click on the “Electronic Paper Submission and Review” link under Resources and Tools. Final Summary Preparation for Publication in Conference Proceedings

After the Technical Program Committee reviews the submissions, authors of accepted summaries will receive instructions for preparation of final summaries. Summaries will be included on the proceedings CD, which will be distributed at the beginning of the conference.

  • Summary submittal due date: January 29, 2010
  • Author notification: April 2, 2010
  • Final summary due date: April 30, 2010
